    Join us for another Acrylic Painting Class! We are highlighting Lillian Thomas Burwell, a prominent black painter and sculptor renowned for her use of abstraction in her artwork. Her painting “Joy” showcases this interest in the abstract, while also conveying serenity through organic shapes and brushstrokes. Students in this class will learn basics of color mixing in this almost monochrome palette, as well as how to use a reference photo to replicate images on canvas. Each student will leave with a completed 16×20 painting on canvas, ready to hang at home. This class is suitable for all levels of acrylic artist.

    In this class, students will learn drawing skills that will allow you to draw objects and scenes right in front of you! There is no need for reference photos when we have the world around us. We'll learn time tested observational drawing exercises through contour drawing practices. You'll come away with multiple drawings and a set of skills that you can practice at home with only pen and paper. Participants are encouraged to bring a few items from home that you find interesting: shells, small plants, feathers, trinkets, or whatever you find visually interesting!

    Cyanotypes are a unique printing technique that uses the power of the sun to create vibrant and distinct blue prints! In this family workshop, you and your little one will create a bandana printed using cyanoype solution on fabric. While we will have materials to use for prints, please bring any objects from home with interesting shapes or sentimental value for you to incorporate into your artworks. This workshop is excellent to learn about shape, value, and pattern through the art of sun prints.

    Join us for an exciting week of art-themed summer camp where campers will blast off into the wonders of space through creative, hands-on art projects inspired by planets, stars, galaxies, and astronauts. From cosmic paintings and imaginative drawings to sculptures and mixed-media creations, campers will explore the colors, textures, and whimsy of outer space. Through a variety of mixed media, campers will build artistic skills, experiment with perspective and imagination, and reach for the stars, all while having fun and making friends along the way! Dress comfortably for artistic exploration! Ages: 6-10

    All supplies included. A midmorning snack of popcorn and juice will be provided. Please note any dietary restrictions.

From playful portraits and expressive drawings to sculptures and collaged creations, campers will explore how to capture personality, movement, and character in their animal art. Through a variety of mixed media, campers will build artistic skills, experiment with textures and colors, and share their love of animals, all while having fun and making friends along the way! Dress comfortably for artistic exploration! Ages: 6-10

From playful drawings and paintings to sculpting with clay and creating prints that celebrate color, shape, and texture, campers will discover how food can spark imagination and artistic expression. Through a variety of mixed media, campers will experiment with form, pattern, and design while building artistic skills, all while having fun and making friends along the way! Dress comfortably for artistic exploration! Ages: 6-10

    Join us for an exciting week of art-themed summer camp where campers will set sail on a colorful journey through history, exploring how different cultures and artists have captured boats, sails, and life on the water in their artwork. From studying famous paintings and drawings inspired by travel and the sea to creating their own seafaring masterpieces, campers will discover how art connects us across time and place. Through a variety of mixed media, including 3D projects and printmaking with ink on paper, campers will explore cultural styles and creative techniques while building artistic skills, all while having fun and making friends along the way! Dress comfortably for artistic exploration! Ages: 6-10
