Students will learn how to draw clean lines and shapes with perspective, using shadow and light to bring realistic depth to their paintings. This class is suitable for any level of watercolor artist, and step-by-step instruction will be provided to increase your confidence in the foundations of watercolor. All supplies included. Wednesdays, February 4th - February 25th. 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM In this series, students will explore various dry mediums: soft pastels, pastel pencils, and charcoal. In this four-week series, each session will guide you through the foundational techniques of mark-making, blending, and how to create depth, value, and texture. By the end of the course, you’ll build confidence in layering, shading, and finishing complete works. This class is suitable for all levels of artist! All supplies included. Fridays, March 27th - May 1st. 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM This wonderful watercolor series will broaden your watercolor skills to the intricacies of how to paint birds! Over 6 weeks, students will be introduced to the key principles of watercolor, color mixing, and color balance. You will study composition, plumage, and how to achieve texture in your watercolors. The class will use step-by-step methods so that you will be prepared to create watercolor masterpieces of your own after the series! Artists of all experience levels are encouraged to join. Fridays, May 8th - June 12th. 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Learn how to capture the grandeur of the Sierra Nevada Range in this watercolor landscapes series! Over 6 weeks, participants will explore painting the diverse biomes of the Sierras, from sagebrush to alpine meadows, glacial lakes, mountains, rivers, and more.
