CANCELLED-Zine Making!April 3 - April 24 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm Fridays Free
Learn the basics of zine-making! Zines are defined as homemade magazines, but they are so much more! Students will be introduced to what zines are, their history, and then learn different methods to make content and bind zines. Classes will include a more in-depth discussion on content generation and ideas for zine topics, themes, and features.
Week 1 (4/3): Zine Basics: Students will be introduced to what zines are and their history. Example zines will be passed around and discussed. The class will make single sheet 8-page zines, passed around an exquisite corpse style, where each person contributes one page.
Week 2 (4/10): Content and Comics: Students learn about content for zines. The class will cover ethics, brainstorm possible prompts and topics, and go over how to storyboard comics. The class activity will be making and sharing short two to four-panel comics.
