Arts for All Nevada thanks our many long-time and more recent supporters including individuals, corporations, foundations, service organizations, government entities and others who make it possible to provide arts opportunities for ALL while preserving and maintaining “Reno’s First Address”, the Lake Mansion.

International/National Level

Arts for All Nevada is a member of the National Art Educators Association.

VSA, the international organization on arts and disability, was founded in 1974 by Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith to provide arts and education opportunities for people with disabilities and increase access to the arts for all.

With 52 international affiliates and a network of nationwide affiliates, VSA is changing perceptions about people with disabilities around the world. Each year, 7 million people of all ages and abilities participate in VSA programs, in every aspect of the arts – from visual arts, performing arts, to the literary arts. VSA is an affiliate of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

In 1986, VSA Nevada, now Arts for All Nevada, became the 49th state member of the VSA Affiliate Network, a program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

State Level

Arts for All Nevada is a member of the Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (NCET)Art Educators of Nevada, Made in Nevada, and Alliance for Nevada Non-profits (ANN).

Arts for All Nevada becomes a “partner in excellence” with Nevada Arts Council through funding and advocacy.   Nevada Arts Council’s mission is to enrich the cultural life of the state through leadership that preserves, supports, strengthens, and makes excellence in the arts accessible to all Nevadans.  Nevada Arts Council with Arts for All Nevada believes the importance of access to the arts for all ages and abilities.  Both entities in partnership and individually provide technical assistance and trainings to arts and cultural organizations concerning accessibility issues.

Arts for All Nevada partners with Nevada Arts Council in promoting Nevada’s “Rich in Art” license plate.  Funds from the sale of these plates are used to provide quality arts programming for Nevada’s children.

The State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) encourages the preservation, documentation, and use of cultural resources through state and federal programs.  The agency works to educate the public about the importance of our cultural heritage so that Nevada’s historic and archaeological properties are preserved, interpreted, and reused for their economic, educational, and intrinsic values and for future generations to appreciate.

SHPO was instrumental in both funding, expertise and advocacy for the Lake Mansion physical move of the building in 2004 and renovation.

Its efforts focus on improving access to public facilities, businesses, and residences for use by individuals with physical or other disabilities, as well as on increasing public awareness of the physical accessibility, educational and employment needs of individuals who are disabled.  The Reno Access Committee funds Arts for All weekly workshops for Adults who have a developmental delay.  These are held at the Lake Mansion late afternoons on Mondays.
